PURPOSE: To obtain briefs permitting good adaptation to bodies of various sizes and various figures. CONSTITUTION: The objective briefs are produced from two congruent beltlike woven fabrics 1 and 2, which are mutually woven at an interval so as to form lateral stitches 3 in the transverse direction over the width of the belt material for the production line. The beltlike woven fabrics 1 and 2 are further started from one of the belt material lower edges 4 and 5 at the center between respective two lateral stitches 3 of the lateral stitches 3 and woven on gusset parts 7. Fixed sites 12, 13 and 14 for additional points are respectively provided near the lateral stitches 3 between both the beltlike woven fabrics 1 and 2 forming the front side and rear side of the pants in the warp woven pants 21 and 22. The fixed sites 12, 13 and 14 are designed to be torn off without damaging the beltlike woven fabrics 1 and 2 under a prescribed tensile load. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO

PURPOSE: To reduce loss due to removal by cutting and simplify finishing operation by meshing a low-cost yarn constituting knitting of portions removed near the edge where the knitting of the portions to be removed begins with the yarn of the remaining part. CONSTITUTION: A tubular knitting part is formed so that second portions 3 removed in a first stage A and first portions 2 are alternately arranged and a second portion 4 of knitting is knitted in a second step B. The second portion is knitted by more economical yarn used in the first portions and the economical yarn is meshed with the yarn of the remaining part of the product near the edge where the knitting of the second portions begins and then, the semi-finished product is cut and subjected to finishing operations by a cut and sewing type machine. An undergarment having mating fasteners on opposing sides of front and rear panels and an elasticized waistband on each panel, thereby allowing easy and quick removal and attachment, in which the rear panel has a left panel and a right panel attached on respective sides to a portion of a center panel that connects to a bottom edge of the front panel thereby creating a bridge between the front and rear panel, providing the wearer with independence and a sense of self-confidence due to the wearer's ability to dress or to use a bathroom without assistance. Thus, the undergarment provides a wearer with a feeling of normalcy while eliminating the embarrassment associated with exposure of intimate body parts.

The invention relates to a method for continuously manufacturing elastic pants (28), wherein a flat web material (1, 16, 19) is continuously conveyed in a longitudinal direction (8) of the web material (1, 16, 19), is shaped into a closed tube (4), and is closed in the longitudinal direction (8). The closed tube (4) forms a first outer layer (9). Elastic threads (10) in the form of a tubular reinforcement are then wound around the first outer layer (9) in the conveying direction (8) in such a way that the elastic threads (10) are taut when the outer layer (9) has a convex shape. A second outer layer (15) is then continuously applied to the elastic threads (10) in the conveying direction (8) and is joined to the elastic threads (10) and/or the first outer layer (9). The first outer layer (9), the elastic threads (10) and the second outer layer (15) form an elastic pants web material (21). Further down in the conveying direction (8), the pants web material (21) is closed along a joining section (29) in regular intervals such that the joining section (29) forms two approximately equally large opening sections that lie opposite each other in the transverse direction. Further down in the conveying direction (8), the pants web material (21) is cut at a distance from the joining section (29) such that a pair of elastic pants (28) is formed.
