A method of preparing a fiber glass reinforced resin sheet comprising continuously feeding one or more fiber glass mat(s) 102, 103 to a heating zone 120, introducing resin e.g. in the form of sheets 100, 101 into the zone with the mat(s), applying pressure to the mat(s) and resin e.g. by platens 121, 122 at a temperature sufficient to melt the resin and thoroughly wet the mat(s), cooling the mat(s) in a cooling zone 130 to solidify the resin into a resin-mat sheet while maintaining pressure on the resin and mat(s) during cooling e.g. by platens 131, 132 at least equal to the pressure applied to the resin and mat(s) in the heating zone, and removing from the cooling zone a solid sheet of glass mat reinforced resin. In an alternative procedure, pressure is applied by passing the assembly under tension around pressing rollers. <IMAGE> |

This comprises a core layer (10) of an inorganic material, substantially consisting of a cured inorganic binder and, if appropriate, additives, and two single-sided, fibre-reinforced outer layers (11, 13), which are joined in a force-transferring manner to the core layer. Between the core layer and each outer layer, consisting of plastic, there is provided a fibre-reinforced intermediate layer (12, 14) of cured natural or synthetic resins, which are water-dilutable in the uncured state. |

PURPOSE:To obtain a product whose surface is smooth, by a method wherein after thermoplastics films have been welded tentatively to both sides of glass- fiber unwoven faric, air confined in the inside is driven out by peeling off one side film and then the film is rewelded thermally, through which the films adhere completely. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastics films 6, 6a are put on both sides of glass-fiber unwoven fabric 1 while they are being heated respectively and welded tentatively by press rolls 9, 10. Then after the one side film 6a has been peeled off by a peeling roller 21, the film 6a is reheated and pressure welding of the same is performed by pressure rollers 13, 14. |

PURPOSE:To obtain lead plastic film with aesthetic surface by a method wherein lead foil is put on the lower melting point plastic film side of laminated plastic film and contact-bonded with each other by heating at a temperature, which is higher than the melting point of the lower melting point film and lower than that of the other plastic film. CONSTITUTION:The bonding of lead and lower melting point plastic film is performed by pressing lead foil and the lower melting point plastic film of co-extruded laminated film at a temperature higher than the melting point of the lower melting point plastic film. On the other hand, no bonding occurs between the laminated film and a hot pressing roll, even though the higher melting point plastic film side of the co-extruded laminated film contacts with the hot pressing roll, because the temperature of the roll is lower than the melting point of the higher melting point plastic film. In addition, the film is made into an integral body, because films with different melting points are molded by inflation method through co-extrusion. |

A multi layered card embodying the invention includes an outer layer of an amorphous laser reactive copolymer material which is embossed with a selected pattern at a selected temperature which is above the glass transition temperature, Tg, of the copolymer and below its melting temperature, Tm. So embossed, the selected pattern is set in the copolymer layer, and its external shape cannot be changed from the embossed form to which it was set at the selected temperature, without destroying the selected pattern. The outer layer may be laminated with the other layers of the card and laser engraved before or after lamination. |
