2 Apparatus for fitting wire of tag JP7514988 1988-03-29 JPH01247148A 1989-10-03 KITAI AKIRA
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable tag wire fitting apparatus, by sending out a tag between the first and second wire guides to pierce wires through the second wire guide from the first wire guide and rotating a rotary drum in tag drawn-out state to twist the wires each other. CONSTITUTION: When the tag 2 drawn out to an endless belt 58 passes through a tag insert port 43, a sensor 84 detects the tag and stops the transfer thereof when the tag reaches a position where wires 3 must be passed. Wire feed-in rollers 74, 75 are driven to feed the wires 3 into upper and lower fixed wire guides 71, 72 and the upper and lower wire guides 49, 50 mounted on a rotary drum 4 and the wires 3 pierce through the hole 21 of the tag 2. Next, the tag 2 is separated from the rotary drum 4 by a paper feed-out mechanism 6 and the rotary drum 4 is subsequently rotated to cut the wires 3 by the lower end of the lower fixed wire guide 72 and the upper end of the upper wire guide 49. The rotary drum 4 is further rotated and the paper feed-out mechanism 6 is driven to move the tag 2 in a separating direction to twist the wires 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for assembling together tags (6), thread (8) and a web of envelope material for producing tagged packets. <P>SOLUTION: The tags are held on spaced seats on the periphery of a rotary carrier (2) and the thread is laid over the carrier and the tags. It is formed into a convoluted shape on the peripheral surface of the carrier between the tags (6) by laterally displaceable holding pins (12) or by being dispensed onto the carrier by a displaceable guide (50). The web is brought against the tags and thread and attached to them maintaining the convoluted pattern of the thread. The assembly of web, thread and tags is suitable for a subsequent form-filling operation to complete the packets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

A tagged packet carries a tag (T) which is attached to the main body (B) of the packet by a thread (S). The thread comprised polypropylene so as to be attachable by heat sealing to the body. The body is made up of layers of sheet material also comprising thermoplastic material to allow the body to be closed by heat seals. The thread is secured to the face of the body at one edge at the same time as that edge is heat sealed and the heating for the thread seal is applied from the opposite face of the body whereas the adjacent regions of edge seal spaced from the thread has the heating applied through the first face. This arrangement gives closer control of the different conditions required for securing the thread and for sealing together only the sheet material of the body.

Tags (T) and thread (S) are assembled together for the manufacture of tagged articles such as infusion packets in which each tag is attached to the packet by a length of thread. The thread is held in a looped form between the tag and the packet before use. For the assembly of the tags and thread and to increase the length of thread attaching each tag, means (54, 60) are provided for forming a doubled-over loop (L') that can be trapped between the tag and the packet.
