The process includes applying adhesive in a solid form such as powder, pellet or a compressed plate of adhesive onto the surface of the fastening member, pressing the adhesive against the adhesive bearing surface of the fastening member, and then heating the adhesive, while it is subjected to pressure, to a temperature high enough to melt the adhesive. In the preferred embodiment heating is accomplished by induction. The fastening members may be preheated to a temperature in the range of 50 DEG -90 DEG to increase the speed of the process.

PURPOSE: To obtain a hollow composite internally threaded member of which the outer cross-sectional shape is other than a circular shape by forming a reinforcing fabric layer to the surface of an externally threaded cylindrical core so as to conform to the threads thereof to form a cylindrical braided triaxial fabric and embedding the reinforcing fabric layer in a matrix to detach the core. CONSTITUTION: For example, a braiding machine 104 is used to form a reinforcing fabric layer 106 on an externally threaded cylindrical core 100 from continuous tows comprising a fiber material 105. Next, pref., fiber tows 114 are wound around the core to fill the surface cavities thereof to superpose reinforcing fabric layers 106 on the core and a matrix material is impregnated. Subsequently, continuous tows 107 comprising a fiber material, for example, six tows are axially pulled at an equal interval to be wound around the core to form a triaxially braided fabric layer 109. These continuous tows 107 are set to a dimension larger than that of other fiber material 105 forming the triaxially braided fabric layer 109. Next, the matrix material is impregnated to be heated under vacuum/pressure and the core 100 is detached to obtain an internally threaded member having a hexagonal outer shape.

CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of long reinforcing fibers and thermoplastic polymer fibers arranged in one direction is used as a core material 3 and the outer layer part of the core material is surrounded by a cylindrical structure of a composite sheet wherein thermoplastic polymer fibers are infiltrated in the interstices of long reinforcing fibers constituting a planer aggregate to be integrally entangled with the long reinforcing fibers to form a preform. This preform is molded into a rod shape and a screw thread 2 is formed to the surface layer of the molded rod using a mold to produce a bolt 1 made of FRP.

The fringe part 16 lowered by a step forms a flash rich area 18 between the same and horn 13, which becomes escape for avoiding of the flashes to be generated at the time of ultrasonic insertion. PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic bold improved in the reinforcing effect of a bolt head, by a method wherein a projection whose diameter is reduced gradually into a direction from the center of the end face of a head cavity to a stem cavity is provided and molten resin material containing reinforcing fibers is poured into a bolt cavity. CONSTITUTION:A projection 23 is provided with a tip end part whose diameter is reduced gradually toward the sumit thereof and is provided so that the tip end part is projected into a head cavity 241 in a direction from the center of the end face of the head cavity 241 toward a stem cavity 242. Molten resin material is poured from the end of the stem cavity 242 into a bolt cavity 24 to fill it through a spure 25 and a runner 26. The molten resin material containing reinforcing fibers flows along the projection 23, therefore, the reinforcing fibers of a considerable amount are orientated with angles near the lengthwise direction of the axis of the bolt cavity 24, whereby reinforcing effect against a stress orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of the axis effects effectively and the head of the bolt may not readily be broken.
