41 | Device for peeling bulb | JP11738994 | 1994-05-09 | JPH07298864A | 1995-11-14 | NAGAOKA TATSUO |
PURPOSE: To evenly peel periderms of bulbs of onion, etc., while preventing damage of the bulbs by moving the bulbs whose periderms are cut by a slit by a conveyor at the upper part while rolling the bulbs by a pair of rotary rolls. CONSTITUTION: Periderms of bulbs whose root parts cut from stem parts are cut by a slit and the bulbs are placed and rolled on a pair of rotary rolls 2 and 3 and transported in the shaft direction of the rolls by a sending pawl 5 projected from a roller chain 4. The bulbs are sprayed with compressed air from jetting nozzles 8 and 7 supplied from air pipes 6 and 7 during the transportation to peel only the periderms. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO

PURPOSE: To minimize the height of the subject apparatus by vertically moving the 1st and 2nd cutting edges in a specific state by the vertical motion of the 1st and 2nd swing links constructed of parallel link rods, thereby rotating both cutting edges by single driving apparatus. CONSTITUTION: Cutting edges 24, 25 are moved in vertical direction in horizontal state without increasing the vertical distance by vertically swinging the 1st swing links 14, 15 and the 2nd swing links 16, 17 and the cutting edge 25 is forced to be brought close to the cutting edge 24 with a weight 36. The cutting edges 24, 25 are rotated with a motor M. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: To carry out operation in high efficiency and reduced labor by feeding a plant having roots between adjacent rollers to keep the posture of the plant definite, reversing rotation of rollers to roll the root of the plant in and cutting off the root of the plant by a sweeping mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A plant having a root such as bulb 3 of lily having root is fed between adjacent rollers 1 and 2 having the surface subjected to hard rubber lining and rotating in the same direction or in the upward direction on adjacent faces to keep the posture of plant definite. Thereafter, rotation direction is changed so that rotation in the adjacent face of the above-mentioned adjacent rollers becomes downward to roll the root of plant in between the rollers 1 and 2 and further piston 4 is operated and sweeping plate 5 is pushed out and roots of the above-mentioned plant is cut off and simultaneously the plant is discharged out of a device to carry out the operation in high efficiency, reduced labor, safeness and sterilized state. PURPOSE: To place the centers of bulbs having different shapes on a fixed position, by supporting freely each ob bulbs sent by a conveyor by the top sandwiching member and the bottom sandwiching member through the second spring and the first spring, respectively. CONSTITUTION: The titled device consists of the conveyor 1 having the supporting holes 10 of the bulbs 2, the first cylinder 23 to push up the bottom sandwiching member 26 to be inserted into the supporting holes 10 through the first spring 28, and the top sandwiching member 18 facing the bottom sandwiching member 26, supported vertically movably through the second spring 20. Namely, since each of the bulbs 20 is freely supported by the sandwiching members 18 and 26 through the springs 20 and 28, respectively, in the device 1, centers of the bulbs having different sizes and shapes can be placed on a fixed position. Consequently, when the stalk parts 2a and the root parts 2b of the bulbs 2 are cut by a treating device such as a cutter, etc., they can be uniformly cut without causing excess cutting or deficient cutting. 46 | Apparatus for peeling onion | JP11205783 | 1983-06-21 | JPS606186A | 1985-01-12 | HASEGAWA SEIJI |
PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus capable of peeling the skin of an onion without fail, and having simple construction composed of the transferring means to transfer the onions one by one, the incising means to apply a circular incision to the skin at the top of the onion, and the blasting means to blast compressed air toward said incision. CONSTITUTION:The onion On is placed on the receiving cylinder 6 on the base plate spanned between the chain links 4, 4 of the first transfer conveyor 1. The conveyor 1 is driven until the onion On reaches under the incision device X, when the conveyor 1 is stopped temporarily. The incision cylinder 17 is lowered to press the onion On, and rotated with the rack 12 and the pinion 13 keeping the above state. A circular horizontal incision C is applied only to the skin of the top of the onion with the incision edge by this process. The conveyor 1 is restarted to transfer the onion On under the skinning device Y, the peeling cylinder 21 is lowered, compressed air is blasted from the blasting hose 23, and at the same time, the peeling cylinder 21 is rotated reciprocatively by about 180 deg.. The skin is peeled and removed by this process. Finally, the onion On is transferred to the second transfer conveyor 3, and the remaining skin is removed.

60 | A METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR CUTTING TOP AND ROOT ENDS OF ONIONS | EP89902937.5 | 1989-02-15 | EP0401270B1 | 1992-06-24 | GROENBECH, Hans, Christian |
In a method of cutting the top and root ends of onions pure rotary motion without translatory motion is imparted to each onion on a movable substrate. The onion is axis-oriented hereby, and then it is retained in this orientation while cutting of the top and root ends takes place. Also an apparatus for use in the performance of the method is provided. This apparatus contains onion rotating means (3), gripper means (10, 11) to grip and retain the onion in the axis-oriented position and cutting means (22, 23, 24) to remove the top and root ends of the onion. |
