A cotton candy machine includes a housing and a stick grabbing device mounted in the housing. A stick rotating device is mounted in the housing and aside corresponds to the stick grabbing device. A feeding device is mounted in the housing and a sugar floss maker is horizontally mounted in the housing under the stick rotating device. The stick grabbing device provides stick one by one and conveys the stick to the stick rotating device. The stick rotating temporarily holds the stick, rotates the stick and makes the stick longitudinally insert into the sugar floss maker for coiling the sugar floss from the sugar floss maker after the feeding device providing sugar material into the sugar floss maker. |

A device is described for conveying sticks in an apparatus for inserting sticks into ice cream bodies, said device comprising guide means in which the sticks are supplied in the form of an elongate stack of sticks, and from which guide means the sticks are destacked singly, said device further comprising a conveying belt, said destacked sticks being deposited in a pocket on said conveying belt moving past the exit aperture of the guide means, said conveying belt comprising a plurality of pockets, wherein each pocket has a longitudinal surface for housing a part of one stick, and each pocket furthermore has at least two guide pins projecting upwards on each side of said longitudinal surface. Hereby the sticks are handled without problems, even at high rates of destacking and conveying, and even if the sticks are skewed or in other manner deviate from a standard stick having dimensions and shape in common with at least the majority of the sticks in a given stack. |

Device for transferring lollipops provided with a stick, including a transferrer, a first conveyor for supply of the lollipops to the transferrer and a second conveyor for discharge of the lollipops from the transferrer, wherein the first conveyor and the second conveyor comprise series of lollipop holders provided with first and second lollipop clamps, respectively, disposed on a first and a second conveyor line, respectively, such as a chain, to keep the lollipops, in particular the sticks, in a first orientation and a second orientation, respectively, wherein the first and second orientations are at an angle to each other, and wherein the transferrer is provided with third lollipop clamps and a holder for them, wherein the holder is disposed for moving the third lollipop clamps from a position for taking over the lollipops supplied by the first conveyor in the first orientation to a position for discharge of the lollipops in the second orientation to the second conveyor. The first, second and/or third lollipop clamps can be designed for clamping the sticks of the lollipops. |

Apparatus (1) and method for moulding lollipops, the apparatus comprising stick receiving means (6) and a mould forming surface (3) of a mould (15), the stick receiving means being mounted for pivotal movement relative to the mould forming surface through substantially ninety degrees. In use the apparatus is passed around a circuit (34) and engagement between the apparatus and a cam track (35) is such that a stick held by the stick receiving means is pivoted through substantially ninety degrees into the mould so that confectionery material can be poured into the mould and around the stick. As the apparatus further progresses around the circuit the formed lollipop is pivoted out of the mould for release from the stick receiving means. |

A machine for inserting pliable handles into soft food articles, such as apples, pears, corn cobs, etc. Pliable, nonsplintering handles, made of coiled paper, are used to avoid accidents, especially when the food is eaten by a child. The handle is loaded into a spring holder, supported by a cylindrical jacket, and the food article is forced down on the handle against the force of the spring. The jacket supports the handle as it enters the food, preventing bending or buckling. |

Apparatus for storing a supply of flat, elongated sticks stacked in an aligned, face-to-face relationship has a double ended guideway formed by rigid guide members closely spaced from the edges of the sticks. The guideway has a first vertical section with a stick input means formed at its lower end, a second vertical section with a stick output means formed at its lower end, and a curved section that connects the upper ends of the vertical sections. Sticks received at the input end advance through the guideway to the output end where they are fed to a high speed stick inserter. In one form, the curved upper section moves vertically with respect to the vertical sections to provide a variable volume storage that maintains a substantially constant pressure within the stack. Devices that sense the vertical position of the upper section, and hence the quantity of stored sticks, control an automatic stick stacking apparatus that adds sticks to the guideway. In another form, the curved upper section is fixed, but has a movable outer rail and associated switching device, responsive to the quantity of stored sticks, which control the stacker. Misaligned sticks inserted into the guideway are rejected through cut-out channels formed in the rails above the input end. Spring loaded pawls that ride the sides of the stack at the cut-out channels eliminate the misaligned sticks. Gates are provided to block the cut-out channels during a low stack pressure condition. The gates are operated manually or by automatic controls responsive to the stick quantity sensing devices. |
