61 ASSESSMENT OF PHYSICAL FITNESS OF AN ANIMAL OR HUMAN INDIVIDUAL EP15817123.1 2015-12-11 EP3229679A1 2017-10-18 HARRISON, Adrian Paul
The invention determines an efficiency value (E) denoting preferably the relative period of muscle fibre activity during a recorded period of exercise, and a spatial value (S) representing the number of muscle fibres recruited during a movement as part of the exercise or of a muscle contraction, and a temporal value (T) representing the frequency with which muscle fibres are activated repeatedly during exercise, and finally combines the efficiency value (E), the spatial value (S) and the temporal value (T) by a mathematical operation to obtain an index value (ESTi) indicative of the fitness level of the individual. The obtained ESTi score is useful for assessing the training level of an animal or human individual and the individual's potential for different types of sports and other activity. Also the effect of past training or diet can be assessed, and the possible need for changes in training or diet can be assessed.

66 DEVICE FOR TRAINING PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES EP00980200.0 2000-11-24 EP1231859B1 2007-10-03 LEIVSETH, Gunnar; OLSEN, Ole
Method and device for training pelvic floor muscles in order to cure or prevent urinary of faecal incontinence. The device comprises a probe (10) having a pressure sensor (22) and a vibrator (19, 20), and a microprocessor (33) connected with the sensor and the vibrator. Initially, the probe is inserted into a person's vagina or rectum and the highest force that can be applied by the person contracting the pelvic floor muscles is ascertained and registered. The contraction of the pelvic floor muscles is repeated at intervals, and the force applied by the pelvic floor muscles at each contraction is ascertained and compared with the registered highest value. The vibrator is activated at each contraction of the pelvic floor muscles only if the force has a predetermined relationship to the registered value, and only for a predetermined period as long as the predetermined relationship is maintained.
67 LEG PORTION TRAINING DEVICE EP04745385.7 2004-05-21 EP1629868A1 2006-03-01 OZAWA, Takahisa, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.; SHINOMIYA, Youichi, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.; OCHI, Kazuhiro, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.; TOYOMI, Yuritsugu, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.; ISHINO, Kouichi, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.; KAWAMOTO, Minoru, Matsushita Electric Works Ltd.

A leg training equipment has a base fixed in place, a support portion configured to support a part of a user's body, and a coupling mechanism provided between the base and the support portion. The coupling mechanism movably couples the support portion to the base such that a load applied to a leg of the user by the user's own weight changes by a relative positional displacement between a foot position and a position of center of gravity of the user. In addition, the coupling mechanism limits a movable direction of the support portion such that at least when the load applied to the leg increases, a direction of the relative positional displacement between the foot position and the position of center of gravity is substantially limited to a direction of flexion and extension of knee joint. Thereby, it is possible to efficiently provide the user with an exercise that applies less load on the knee joint.

A leg portion training device has a base fixed at a fixed position, a supporting portion for supporting part of user's body, and a joining mechanism provided between the base and the supporting portion. The joining mechanism movably joins the supporting portion to the base such that loads, caused by user's own weight, acting on leg portions varies according to relative displacement between user's feet and gravity center. Further, the joining mechanism limits the direction where the supporting portion can move such that, at least when loads on leg portions increases, the direction of relative displacement between the positions of the feet and gravity center is limited in a substantially bending/stretching direction of knee joints. The leg portion training device can efficiently provide a user with exercise that applies less loads on knee joints.
