168 AUTOMATIC EXCREMENT DISPOSAL APPARATUS PCT/KR2009005128 2009-09-10 WO2010030122A2 2010-03-18
The present invention relates to an automatic excrement disposal apparatus which is intended for the elderly, infirm and disabled, and patients who have ambulatory difficulties. The device automatically senses and disposes of excrement such as feces and urine discharged by a patient. The automatic excrement disposal apparatus comprises: a sanitary pad worn by a patient; a main body with a collection bottle that aspirates and accumulates the excrement from the sanitary pad and a water tank supplying water to the sanitary pad; and a connection hose which connects the main body to the sanitary pad. The sanitary pad has a containment space which has a built-in excrement sensor at the lower, bottom surface of the containment space. The present invention can place the sanitary pad in an aspiration mode whereby air is aspirated in through plural air flow holes and circulates, which allows the air aspirated from the sanitary pad to circulate and clear the pad without the need for a separate air supply device. Thus the apparatus is simplified and production costs are minimized. In addition, the apparatus comprises a disinfectant supply container and pump to disinfect the excrement instead of a conventional active charcoal filter. Thus, the apparatus implements a disinfectant which is conveniently replaceable and which lasts extended periods. Additionally, the apparatus can be adapted to sense even minute or small amounts of feces by mounting a sensor which has light-emitting and light-receiving units disposed in the lower section of the bottom surface of the sanitary pad. Further, the excrement on the bottom surface of the sanitary pad can be completely removed using a high-power water jet device.
