PURPOSE:To prevent a pressed wire from being deteriorated by intermittently transferring a joint block matching with the pitch of arranged pressure welding terminals and selectively taking out only a rated wire corresponding to each array to press the rated wire and detecting the failure of pressure welding. CONSTITUTION:A joint block 1 is set on a base 15. A power switch 39 is turned on to operate a pulse motor. A slide plate 17 is then transferred and stopped at the position where the first array A1 of the group of pressure welding terminals 3 of the block 1 faces an engaging slot 25 of an axis matching jig 24. A controller 50 is operated by the signal from a signal generator 51 to open a cover 44 of a wire enclosure 42. A rated wire W to be pressed in the first array A1 only is then taken out. The wire W is provided across axis matching axes 24 and 24 and a switch 39' is turned on to cause a ram 26 to descend. The ram 26 then ascends when the wire W is pressed and fixed in a slot 4 of the pressure welding terminal 3 by a pressure welding edge 27. The end portions of the wire W are forced into a recess portion 5 of the block 1 by a bending jig 29. The process is repeated to the group of the terminals 3 of each array. |

PURPOSE: To easily fasten wires to a connector at the site by forming a central contact section and an eccentric hole section to be fastened by a central fastening pin and an outside fastening pin supported by a fastening tool respectively. CONSTITUTION: This cable connector 1 is composed of an outside body section 8, a central contact section 7, and an insulating material 27 between them, and the contact section 7 receives a center wire. The outside body section 8 is provided with at least one eccentric hole section 10, the eccentric hole section 10 is extended practically in parallel with the central contact section 7, and it is located adjacently to the surface of the outside body section 8. An outside wire is inserted into the eccentric hole section 10. When the wires are located at proper positions, the central contact section 7 and the eccentric hole section 10 are fastened by a fastening tool 2. The fastening tool 2 is composed of a central fastening pin 3 on a first portion of a first die and an outside fastening pin 4 on a second portion of the first die. The central fastening pin 3 supports and fastens the central contact section 7 and the outside fastening pin 4, and it likewise fastens the eccentric hole section 10. |

Harness making apparatus having improved wire lengthening means. Apparatus comprises a wire feed shuttle (20) having telescoping wire guide tubes (25) and a wire clamping mechanism (130). The shuttle (20) delivers the leading ends of wires (4) first to a press (14) for application of terminals then delivers the terminated leading ends to a connector block loading station for insertion in a connector block (7). The clamping mechanism (130) is then released and the shuttle (20) retreats over the wires (4) along a feed path extending between the block loading station and a wire severing station. A comb-like deflector (50) with arcuate channels (52) then moves onto the wires between the shuttle (20) and the loaded connector block (7). An axial wire feeder (10) located upstream of the severing station then pays out the wire through the shuttle (20) into loops of various lengths between the loaded connector block (7) and the deflector (50). The shuttle (20) then retreats on the feed path to a point between the severing station and the wire feeder (10) and the wires are severed to produce a harness (6) having wires (7) of varying length. |

In electrical terminal crimping apparatus comprising two crimping dies so mounted that one die is constrained to move towards and away from the other die, a wheel having circumferentially spaced, outwardly extending vanes is rotatably mounted with respect to the dies and a pawl, operatively connected to the movable die, is adapted to engage a ratchet, carried by the wheel, to effect partial rotation of the wheel. After a terminal has been crimped to an electrical lead and as the movable die moves away from the fixed die, the pawl automatically engages the ratchet and causes the wheel to rotate so that a vane pushes the terminated lead laterally from between the dies to a sufficient extent to permit the stripped end of another lead to be positioned between the dies. |
