A multipolar electrical protection device has a disconnecting block with separable contacts containing at least one movable contact finger, a switching mechanism able to move the contact fingers, and an electronic tripping system that drives the mechanism. The protection device has a pyrotechnic actuation system including: a pyrotechnic actuator; firing pins positioned facing the contact fingers and each able to be moved to a pressed position in which it pushes a contact finger; a motion transmission system for transforming the movement of a mobile part of the pyrotechnic actuator to the deployed position thereof into a simultaneous movement of all of the firing pins to the pressed position. The tripping system is able to activate a pyrotechnic actuator when it detects an electrical fault.
197 CONTACTOR DEVICE INTEGRATING PYROTECHNIC DISCONNECT FEATURES US16101143 2018-08-10 US20180350540A1 2018-12-06 Daniel Sullivan; Murray Stephan McTigue; Michael Henry Molyneux
Disclosed herein are contactor devices, for example, devices that can be utilized as switching elements, comprising fixed contacts that are electrically isolated from one another and one or more moveable contacts that are configured to electrically contact the fixed contacts to provide an electrical connection between them. Movement of the fixed contacts into and out of electrical contact with the fixed contacts controls flow of electricity through the devices. The contactor devices also include pyrotechnic disconnect elements, which function as a circuit break or fuse-like element to protect against overcurrent. When the electrical current through the contactor device reaches a threshold level, a pyrotechnic charge activates, permanently forcing the moveable contacts out of electrical contact with the fixed contacts.
198 High-voltage vehicle network of a motor vehicle, quick-break switch and method of operating the high-voltage vehicle network US15230627 2016-08-08 US10137783B2 2018-11-27 Markus Birner; Manuel Engewald; Klaus Gottschalk; Patric Gross; Peter Meckler; Markus Miklis; Ricardo Pimenta; Ewald Schneider
A high-voltage motor vehicle electric system contains a high-voltage battery and a consumer network which are interconnected by an electric cable, and a quick-break switch for disconnecting the high-voltage battery from the consumer network. The quick-break switch receives an airbag signal. The airbag signal is used for actuating the quick-break switch to sever the electric cable supplying power to the consumer network.
199 Electric switching device for an energy accumulator in an electric vehicle US15323634 2015-05-29 US10079129B2 2018-09-18 Tobias Mayer; Daniel Quinger; Martin Specht; Sebastian Spirig; Marcel Straub
The invention relates to an electric switching device (10) for an energy accumulator in an electric vehicle, comprising a housing (20) inside which at least one switching section (30) that includes two input contacts (32a, 32b) and at least one output contact (34) is arranged, and a rotary component (40) which is mounted in such a way as to be rotatable relative to the housing (20) about a switching axis (42) between at least one OFF position (I), a series-connecting position (II), and an ON position (III); said rotary component (40) includes at least one conductor (44) which has at least two conductor contacts (44a, 44b) and which connects the first input contact (32a) in an electrically conducting manner to the output contact (34) in the series-connecting position (II) and connects the second input contact (32b) in an electrically conducting manner to the output contact (34) of the at least one switching section (30) in the ON position (III).
200 Device for connecting a battery to an electric or hybrid vehicle, and battery housing comprising said connection device US13814184 2011-08-01 US09461454B2 2016-10-04 Thierry Auguet; Pierre-Alain Magne
A connection device 3 for connecting a battery 2 to an electric or hybrid motor vehicle, comprising at least one input 3a capable of being connected to a terminal of the battery and an output 3b capable of being connected to a first terminal of an electrical circuit of the vehicle. The device 3 also comprises an electrical-circuit cutoff device 8 mounted in series between the input 3a and the output 3b of the connection device 3. The cutoff device 8 comprises a pyrotechnic igniter connected to control terminals, the electrical opening of the cutoff device 8 being controlled by an electrical control signal applied to the said control terminals.
