An environmentally protected keyboard display and input device is provided which may be utilized in conjunction with a variety of digital control systems such as automated bank tellers or building security systems. The keyboard display and input device includes a unitary, transparent flexible keyboard having thickened portions forming keys. The keyboard forms an environmental seal including a peripheral gasket to protect an underlying, transparent, pressure sensitive switching assembly, which, in turn, overlies a corresponding visual display of alphanumeric characters which indicate the significance of the individual pressure sensitive switches and corresponding keys overlying each character. Pins are formed on the underside of the flexible keyboard, below each key, to focus and concentrate pressure exerted on each key to the corresponding pressure sensitive switch below. An optical grid is provided to restrict the viewing of the alphanumeric characters to the user of the device, to prevent compromising the data input.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a maintenance work or an assembling work at the time of manufacture while the angle of a display for an operation is adjustable. SOLUTION: A display 4 for an operation is attached so as to be erected on the upper face of a case 1 in a state that the angle is adjustable back and forth. Then, engagement protrusions 20, 20,... are provided on the upper face of a bottom plate 2, and they are horizontally engaged with a case bending part 21 or an engagement piece 22, and the bottom plate 2 is fixed to the case 1 by screwing the front edge part of the bottom plate 2 into the case bending part 21 with a locking screw 23. At the time of maintenance, a keyboard is pushed forward a little from the front edge of the stand, the locking screw 23 is released, and the case 1 is pushed backward so that the both can be separated, and when the front part of the case is lifted up in that state, the work can be finished without turning the whole keyboard upside down.
88 Pressure sensitive key pad JP27243397 1997-10-06 JPH10228342A 1998-08-25 LIDDLE MARK
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key pad alarm capable of solving the defects of a method for using a microswitch alarm. SOLUTION: The key pad for an ATM or the like arranges additional areas 26 as switch to be normally turned on when pressure is applied by projections 36 formed on a rear plate 32 in addition to mechanical keys to be turned from normally ON states to OFF states at the time of applying pressure to areas 24 on a pressure sensitive layer 22 so as to depress the layer 22 to the rear plate 32 when the keys 14 are depressed. When the rear plate 32 is detached, these switches are turned off and a monitoring circuit senses the change. COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO

PURPOSE: To heighten the resistance to an attach to the environments and human being by installing a firm operation member, an electric contact means to be operated by the movement of the operation member, a sealing means to inhibit flow of water and contaminants, and a limiting means to inhibit the movement of the operation member. CONSTITUTION: When a key 17 is pushed down, the key 17 moves from the plane of a tip part plate 15 toward the plane of a substrate. A diaphragm 19 is bent in a region of a groove 28 interlockingly with the key 17 and a dome 32 is crushed by a load to be applied through an insert 26 and a stand-like part 25 under a printed circuit element 35. Consequently, the dome 32 is brought into contact with respective conductive regions 36 of the circuit 35 and electrically connected. In this way, when the dome 32 is crushed, the center region of the dome is joined with an exposed contact region 31 of a printed circuit member 29 and moved. As a resule, electric connection between contact regions 31 and 36 is established and an electric circuit is composed. At the time of releasing the key 17, the elastic force bonding the dome 32 and the diaphragm 19 shuts the circuit. COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO

PURPOSE: To provide an operation plate having a short stroke key for using a keyboard and having one or some keys designed by means for giving a flat, touching key stroke so as to form continuous elements. CONSTITUTION: A first array 11 of a set of inside grooves 12 and a second array 15 of a series of outside grooves 16 are given so as to surround a key area 9 on an operation plate 1. A part called a spring arm 19 between the first array and a second array 15 serves as a function for restoring a key when the key area 9 is deviated by holding down the key from a flat of the plate 1. 99 Push button switch member, portable information terminal with push button switch and price charging system using portable information terminal with push button switch JP2000107502 2000-04-10 JP2001291449A 2001-10-19 SHIMIZU TAKAO
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal with a push button switch for ensuring visible recognition of the function of the push button switch, and an easy-to-operate price charging system using the same. SOLUTION: The portable information terminal 34 with the push button switch having an electronic display 2 assembled therein for displaying a text or an image showing the function of the push button switch on a key top portion 12 of the push button switch has the function of bidirectional radio communication. In the price charging system, order information input with the switch is input via an automatic vending machine 39 or an order-reception and charge processing terminal 40 of a seller/provider 44, and a server 41a of the seller/ provider 44 to a server 41b of a given bank 45. An amount corresponding to price charging information is transferred from the account of a purchaser in one's bank into the account of the seller/provider 44 in one's bank.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exchange a keyboard unit from the surface side while ensuring the drop preventing performance of a keyboard. SOLUTION: A keyboard unit 3 whose upper face a water proof sheet is adhered to is mounted from the upper side on an opening provided on the upper face of a case 1 inclined so that the front side can be made lower. Then, a liquid tray 12 is integrally provided with the case at the lower side of the keyboard unit 3 in the case so that even when liquid such as juice spilled to the keyboard intrudes inside from a clearance between the keyboard unit 3 and the case 1, the liquid can be remained without being dropped. Also, a through- hole 15 for allowing a connection cable 10 to pass is provided at the rear edge part of the liquid tray, and a water wall 16 is provided like a bank in the surrounding of the through-hole 15. Moreover, a drain ditch 19 is horizontally provided at the rear side of the through-hole 15 of the case 1 so that liquid intruding from the upper part can be prevented from being dropped through the cable through-hole 15.
