According to the present invention, there is provided a pushbutton switch cover sheet providing a unique design. A pushbutton switch cover sheet is provided with an operation plate of metal or hard resin having dividing grooves defining depressing operation members capable of displacement through depression. Therefore, there is no need to provide the casing of the apparatus with a frame defining key tops, making it possible to impart a novel design to the apparatus. The operation plate is formed as a thin plate, so it is possible to reduce a thickness of the apparatus as a whole. Further, the dividing grooves are provided with in-groove protrusions protruding into the dividing grooves and groove filling members fixed to the groove inner side surfaces and formed of a rubber-like elastic material, thereby making it possible to provide a pushbutton switch cover sheet of a high level of safety in which there is no fear of fingers being injured by the dividing grooves.

An electrical switch assembly for controlling an electrical appliance, wherein the assembly includes first and second electrical elements. The first element is an on/off switch for initially switching on the appliance. The second element is a pressure-sensitive variable resistor for adjusting the operating condition of the appliance. The variable resistor includes a first part having a resilient deformable and electrically conducting resistive surface and a second part. One of the parts is movable to press against the other part so that their surfaces bear against each other to make an electrical connection between the resistive surface and the element. The resistive surface and the element together provide a resultant resistance between the two contacts that declines as the area of contact increases corresponding to the pressure acting upon the two parts.

The invention relates to a manual operating part (100) for a furniture control, in particular for furniture for sitting or lying down, comprising a housing (101) having a top side (110) and a bottom side (160). A first and a third operating panel (120, 130) are defined on the top side and a second and a fourth operating field (170, 180) are defined on the bottom side, which are opposite the first and third operating fields (120, 130). Actuating the first and second operating fields triggers a first operating signal in each case, while actuating the third and fourth operating field triggers a second operating signal in each case. The housing (101) is movably mounted over push-buttons arranged in the housing at least in the region of the first and third operating field and is mounted such that a first of said push-buttons is actuated by movement of the housing in the region of the first operating field and that a second of said push-buttons is actuated by movement of the housing in the region of the third operating field.
