PURPOSE: To easily separate a keyboard from a circuit substrate for sealing a key, preventing liquid from flowing into the circuit substrate, completely cleaning and sterilizing the key. CONSTITUTION: Plural flexible elastic domes 32 corresponding to the keys 16 and semitransparent thin films 20 which are arranged between a panel and a substrate 24 and which form liquid resistant seals between the panel and the substrate 24 are provided. Thus, liquid is prevented from flowing into the substrate 24 even if it drops from the key 16. Conductive surfaces 76 which correspond to the respective flexible elastic domes 32 and are arranged on sides facing to the substrate 24 of the semitransparent thin film 20 are provided. When the key 16 is depressed, the corresponding dome 32 is deformed and the conductive face 76 belonging to the corresponding dome 32 is pressed to one corresponding contact land 78. Thus, an electric operation corresponding to a key 16 operation can securely be realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO

PURPOSE:To enable an operator of a keyboard to operate the keys in combination with both hands kept at the home positions as they are by increasing the height of the top part of a prescribed function key by the length of stroke compared with other adjacent function keys. CONSTITUTION:The height of the top part of a control key serving as a function key 41a set at the left corner, for example, of a keyboard 30 is increased by an extend equal to the stroke length compared with a shift key and an alt key 42, i.e., other adjacent keys. Therefore while pressing down the keyboard with the root of the left fifth finger or its nearby palm part, the tip of the fifth finger can operate another key. In this case, the key to be pressed can be easily specified since the top part of the key 41a has the larger height than other keys and the adjacent keys are never operated by mistake. This, each finger can kept at its home position as near as possible when the keyboard 30 is operated with the blind touches at the time of producing a program.

PURPOSE:To rearrange keys so that an operator use them easily and to improve operativity by providing many switches on a keyboard base and providing plural keys whose positions are changed freely on the keyboard substrate. CONSTITUTION:The keyboard base 1 is provided with numbers of X-Y contact type switches (Xm, Yn). Respective intersections in a figure are switches, which are pressed by lower ends 2a of keys 2 to make X-Y contacts (Xm, Yn). A cover 3 for holding the keys 2 is arranged on the keyboard base 1. This cover 3 has plural grooves 4 which hold the keys 2 slidably corresponding to hollow parts 2b of the keys 2. Then, each key 2 itself has a replaceable key top 2c. Therefore, the arrangement of the keys 2 is altered on the keyboard 1 by sliding a key 2 in a groove 2 or replacing a key top 2c.

PURPOSE:To facilitate the modifiation of the arrangement of charactr keys by providing respective character keys with the functions of generating patterns which correspond to characters and the function of generating patterns of all characters at each key position. CONSTITUTION:With an ''a'' character key pushed, the projections of a pattern generator 13 turn on the reed switches 21 and 22 of a pattern receiver 20. Consequently, a lower circuit part generates a signal, and consequently an ''a'' character signal ''110'' is sent from signal lines 31, 32 and 33 to a pattern register 40. Then, when the ''a'' character key 10 is detached from a keyboard 100 by a character key indication tool 12 and moved to the position of an ''i'' character key to be pushed, the reed switches 80 and 81 of a pattern receiver 80 are turned on. Consequently, the lower circuit part generates the signal and a pattern register 40 generates the ''a'' character signal ''110''. Thus, even when the character key is moved to any location on the keyboard, the signal of the same character key is generated.

57 Key structure facilitating key cap removal US15293471 2016-10-14 US09875863B2 2018-01-23 Li-Sheng Hsiao
A key structure is provided. The key structure comprises a substrate, a membrane circuit disposed on the substrate, a conduction switch disposed on the membrane circuit, a keycap, a bending portion fixed to the keycap, an elastic member disposed on the membrane circuit and abutting against the keycap, and a connecting rod disposed movably between the membrane circuit and the keycap. The connecting rod includes an operating arm and an engaging portion. The operating arm is connected to the engaging portion, and the engaging portion selectively engages with the bending portion. When the operating arm moves in a direction parallel to a surface of the keycap, the operating arm drives the engaging portion to disengage from the bending portion and the elastic member provides a force against the keycap to move the keycap away from the conduction switch.
