A key assembly for actuating a diaphragm switch, and including a housing, a keystem movably mounted on the housing, and a switch actuator coupled to the keystem through a lost-motion connection arranged so a relatively large stroke of the keystem is required to effect a small actuator motion needed to operate the switch. A coil spring biases the keystem away from the housing to an extended position in which the switch is not actuated, and a second coil spring urges the actuator away from the keystem. The lost-motion connection between the keystem and actuator provides positive retraction of the actuator during the return stroke of the keystem. A leaf spring on the keystem rides a cam surface or ramp on the housing, and the ramp is shaped to modify the effect of the coil springs such that the keystem tends to toggle past the point of switch actuation to prevent switch jitter and to provide a tactile signal that actuation has occurred.

A safety switch (1) has a switching rocker (17) for switching it on and off that forms a two-armed lever and is swivellingly mounted on a base (16). The base (16) is surrounded by a housing (2, 3) in a contact-safe manner. On the actuating side of the safety switch (1) is arranged a lid (3) for covering the switching rocker (17). An opening is arranged within the lid (3) to receive a slip-on part which extends through the opening and exerts a pressure on one arm of the lever of the switching rocker (17). In one of both switching positions, the slip-on part projects on the side of said arm of the lever further out of the opening of the housing than in the other switching position, indicating the switching state of the safety switch (1). The slip-on part may selectively be a switch-button (9) movably linked to an arm of the lever of the switching rocker (17) or a switching hood (41) fixedly connected to both arms of the lever.

Die Tragplatte ist mit Abwinklungen (11) sowie einem Ausschnitt (13) versehen, die mit Absätzen (3) an der Frontseite des Gehäuses (2) des Schaltgerätes (1) bzw. einem Bezeichnungsschild (10) zusammenwirken. Der Kraftantrieb (25) ist dadurch zentriert auf das Schaltgerät (1) aufsetzbar.

Es wird ein Kraftantrieb (10) für ein Gerät, insbesondere einen Niederspannungs-Schutzschalter (1) angegeben. Zur Handbetätigung des Kraftantriebes im Notfall, d. h. z. B. bei Ausfall der Stromversorgung für einen Getriebemotor (21), ist ein Drehgriff (37) vorgesehen, der mit einer mit untersetzter Drehzahl umlaufenden Welle (24) des Getriebemotors (21) verbunden ist. Eine Freilaufkupplung (29) gestattet eine Handbetätigung mittels des Drehgriffes (37) ohne Behinderung durch den Bewegungswiderstand des Getriebes (23). Es ist vorteilhaft, den Drehgriff mit der am stärksten untersetzten Welle des Getriebemotors zu verbinden und diese mittels eines Kurbelarmes (25) auf das Gerät, z. B. einen Schutzschalter (1), einwirken zu lassen, weil dann die Handbetätigung mit geringem Drehwinkel des Drehgriffes durchführbar ist.
