PURPOSE: To generate natural fluctuations of timbre when musical sounds with mutually relative timbre are generated by the timbre parameter editing device of the electronic musical instrument.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU when adding the output of a 1/f fluctuation circuit to the value of a previously set timbre parameter (step S907) does not perform the process in a step S905, but adds the same 1/f fluctuation output to process timbre parameters of the same kind. After a process for one kind of timbre parameters as to all parameter groups, steps S910, S913, S914, S915, S903, S904, and S905 are performed in order and a new 1/f fluctuation output is added to a timbre parameter of next kind. Therefore, the common '1/f fluctuation' characteristics are added to timbre parameters of the same kind.

PURPOSE: To automatically control a sound volume by a simple operation by controlling the sound volume level of sounding controlled by sounding control means, by a sound volume control means and selecting a sounding state by a switching means.
CONSTITUTION: A sound volume control means executes a control, for instance, by increasing gradually or decreasing gradually the sound volume level of sounding controlled by a prescribed sequence pattern by a sounding control means. The sounding state of a sound volume level controlled by this sound volume control means is selected by operating a switching means. Accordingly, the operating the switching means, a sounding state, for instance, for increasing gradually or decreasing gradually the sound volume level is selected. In such a way, a sound volume can be controlled automatically by a simple operation.

PURPOSE: To synchronize the phases of updating frequency data among respective channels by transferring a vocalization ON/OFF signal and frequency data corresponding to each channel to different storage means within a time divided circulation cycle in every storage means and preparing a musical sound based upon the transferred data. CONSTITUTION: A vocalication ON/OFF signal and updating frequency data corresponding to each channel in a tone mix are successively written in 1st and 2nd storage means in each updating command. In each writing of all the updating data of respective channels of which updating is simultaneously commanded, these data are transferred to 3rd and 4th storage means and stored. A musical sound preparing means prepares a musical sound by using the synchronized vocalization ON/OFF signals and updating frequency data stored in the 3rd and 4th storage means. Thereby frequency data based upon the pitch bend, vibtrato, or the like of respective channels in the tone mix are synchronously reflected to the musical sound. |

A fixed formant filter for a digital tone generator uses a set of scale factors generated by storing in memory a set of words corresponding to the relative amplitude of points on a single resonance curve. The words are addressed and read out of the memory in sequence in response to a counter. For each output state of the counter a group of words is read out of the memory, added, and stored as one scale factor of said set of scale factors. The number of words in the group read out corresponds to the number of resonant peaks in the fixed formant filter. The respective words in the group are addressed by modifying the output of the counter respectively by four constants corresponding to the relative position in the musical scale at which the resonant peaks of the formant filter occur. |

A noise generator in which a random pulse output is produced by a random pulse generator in synchronism with a predetermined clock and is stored in a latch circuit by a clock obtained by frequency dividing the predetermined clock to produce random pulses of a harmonic composition different from the abovesaid random pulse output, thus providing noises of two or more desired harmonic compositions from the random pulse generator. A band noise generator in which parallel outputs from respective stages of a random pulse generator are divided into two, that is, inter and decimal bits; a noise band width is designated by a band width designating circuit; a frequency coefficient represented by an integer corresponding to the band width is read out by the integer bits; the frequency coefficient thus read out is added to a fundamental frequency coefficient represented by an integer, stored in a memory, to produce predetermined output bits; the output bits are added with the decimal bits from the random pulse generator and accumulated by an accumulator in synchronism with a clock to output predetermined high-order bits; and in accordance with the output content, a sine wave is read from a sine-wave table. Thus, a desired noise band width can be set by the band width designating circuit, and by accumulating the decimal bits using the accumulator, setting including the decimal bits is made possible, thereby obtaining band noises whose frequencies are set with high accuracy. |

PURPOSE:To perform comfortable musical composition with high efficiency by providing a microprocessor, memory for musical sound, and typewriter type keyboard, and making free use of composition technique with an abundant command system. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 and a special buffer 2 used for musical sound data conversion are provided, and when 8 bits are used for high/low data on one musical sound necessary for performance, 16 bits are required in the buffer. Further, the musical composition assisting device is the typewriter type keyboard 3 including an alphabet key and a numeral key. A memory 4 is stored with data on a composition result, composition technique, and composition assistant software, and a buffer 5 for the keying of commands is used. A command is inputted, character by character, on the keyboard by using a return key which is used for indicating the ending of one work in general without using a special signal nor a symbol such as a delimiter. |
