184 Beam forming circuit JP7049183 1983-04-21 JPS59195170A 1984-11-06 KATOU JIYUNICHI
PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfiable beam forming characteristic by deviating the timing in sampling the output signal of each wave receiving sensor by as much as the time corresponding to a time delay, in a basic sampling period. CONSTITUTION:The output from each wave receiving sensor is supplied to a sample holding circuit 1, by which the output is sampled at a timing d'i. The sampled output is multiplexed by a multiplexer circuit 2 and is fed by a delay quantity equivalent to niT in a register circuit 4 after A/D conversion 3, then a beam output is synthesized by an adder 5. The timing d'i indicates the time delay quantity of each wave receiving sensor within the basic sampling period. A timing circuit 6 generates a pulse d'i and the timing of each part associated thereto and the one period of the memory access thereof coincides with the basic sampling period. The memory step thereof is determined by the quantization accuracy of the time delay.

PURPOSE:To evaluate deficiency appropriately even when the opening requirement is not satisfied fully, by standardizing a mutual correlation value seeking mutual correlation between a ultrasonic receiving signal and a reference ultrasonic receiving signal. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic echo signal obtained by scanning over a object 3 to be inspected with a probe 1 is memorized sequentially into a full wave type memory 7 through an A/D converter 4 and a buffer memory 5. The contents of the memory 7 and a reference echo waveform data from a reference echo converter 9 are applied separately to a mutual correlation computing circuit 11 and a self-correlation computing circuit 12 to determine a mutual correlation value, which then is standardized with a standardization circuit 13. The mutual correlation value thus standardized is stored into video RAM11 as luminance modulating signal and then, applied to a CRT display 20. This enables appropriate evaluation of deficiency even when the opening requirement is not satified fully.

PURPOSE:To detect a weak target signal more exactly by providing a long operating integrator on the output side of a phasing device, measuring a self-generating noise, subtracting from the output of a detection integrator by use of said output, and displaying its result. CONSTITUTION:A short operating integrator 113a for detecting the target energy, and a long operating integrator 113b for detecting a self-generating noise are provided on the output side of a phasing device 12, and a difference of both these integrator outputs is taken by a subtracter. Only the output of a self-generating noise is obtained from the output of the integrator 113b, therefore a difference between them, that is to say, the output of the subtracter 3 is able to output only the varied portion such as, on the whole, a target or a submarine noise, also a dynamic range of a signal is made narrow, and it is possible to obtain a signal which is able to effectively use the dynamic range of an indicator. According to such a constitution, a weak target signal can be detected more exactly.
192 Receiving system of scanning sonar JP2057280 1980-02-22 JPS56118683A 1981-09-17 TAKAHASHI FUKUTAROU
PURPOSE:To obtain the echo signal with sufficient intensity in a simple constitution by attenuating one of the outputs of two neighbouring receiving elements by a specified amount, increasing the other by a specified amount, performing mixing process and the like, and correcting the receiving sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:Vibrators Vn...and V'n-1... forming a receiving element group EL are sequentially switched via switches. The signals are received by the neighbouring vibrators Vn... and V'n-1... and supplied to attenuators ATT1A... wherein the signals are attenuated from 100% to 0% of a ganged variable attenuator group GATT and to attenuators ATT2B... wherein the signals are increased from 0% to 100%. The outputs of the GATT are mixed and processed in mixers M1.... In this constitution, e.g., the output E1A of the attenuator ATT1A is virtually shifted to the output E2B, and the phase phi2 is shifted to phi1 by 3 steps. In this way, the vector component of the output is generated. This circuit is actually equivalent to a circuit wherein two additional vibrators are arranged between the neighbouring vibrators. Therefore, the receiving sensitivity can be corrected by the simple constitution, and the sufficiently intense echo signal can be formed.

PURPOSE:To change a range of underwater detection freely, by changing a running speed of a recording head by changing over a running mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic-wave pulses are transmitted from transmitter-receiver 1, simultaneously running mechanism 26 runs recording heads 15-17 from one end of recording paper 24 to the other end. Then, AD converter 5 converts the signal that receiver 3 has received into a digital output to supply to recording heads 15-17 via decoder 6. Switch 10 changes over running mechanism 26 to change running speeds of recording heads 15-17, so that the range of underwater detection will be changed. In this case, delay circuits 8 and 9 are optionally changed over corresponding to the switching in running speed.
