41 | PROCEDE ET DISPOSITIF DE LOCALISATION DE BRUITEURS PAR UNE ANTENNE CONSTITUEE DE BOUEES ACOUSTIQUES PASSIVES | EP93918758.0 | 1993-03-10 | EP0630482A1 | 1994-12-28 | FORSTER, Philippe Thomson-CSF SCPI |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folded sagnac sensor array.SOLUTION: A folded Sagnac fiber optic acoustic sensor array (1200) operates in a manner similar to a Sagnac interferometer but uses a common delay path to reduce distributed pickup in downlead fibers. The fiber optic acoustic sensor (716) is used to detect acoustic waves in water. By basing the folded Sagnac sensor array on operating principles similar to the Sagnac interferometer rather than basing the array on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, the sensor array has a stable bias point, reduces phase noise, and allows a broadband signal source to be used rather than requiring a more expensive narrow line laser. A large number of acoustic sensors (718(N)) can be multiplexed into the architecture of the folded Sagnac fiber optic acoustic array.

PURPOSE:To erase a display based upon an acoustic wave from a coexisting sound source from a display screen immediately through simple operation by specifying the generation direction of a null point (direction acoustic wave arrival from a noise source) when the acoustic wave arriving from the unnecessary noise source exerts influence, and outputting a pseudo pattern signal. CONSTITUTION:A receiver 1 has two orthogonal 8-shaped bipolar directivity patterns and a nondirectivity pattern and outputs a received signal when an acoustic wave arrives, and a pattern generator 7 outputs the pseudo pattern signal equivalent corresponding to a signal received with a directivity pattern having a null point in the specified direction. Then when the display screen of a display device 6 becomes hard to see in the arrival direction of the acoustic wave owing to the influence of the unnecessary noise source, a null direction specifying circuit 9 specifies the direction of null point generation to the generator 7, so that the pseudo pattern signal having a null point in the specified direction is outputted. Further, the pseudo pattern signal is applied to phase comparators 3a and 3b through a switching circuit 8, so only the direction of the arrival of the acoustic wave from the sounding source is displayed clearly.

PURPOSE:To track and identify automatically the arriving direction of a sound from a specific moving sound source by inputting sound absorbing signals from two microphones to a correlative function calculator through spectral extracting filters. CONSTITUTION:The non-directional microphones 1, 2 are arranged on a vertical axis. These microphones 1, 2 absorbe arriving sounds from an aircraft 9 in flying or a noise source 10 on the ground and supply the absorbed sounds to the mutual correlative function calculator 5 through spectral characteristic extracting filters 3, 4. The output of the correlative function calculator 5 is inputted to a maximum/minimum detecting circuit 8 through a smoothing circuit 6 and a differentiator 7. One of inputs to the correlative function calculator 5 is delayed so that the maximum value or minimum value of the correlative function signal obtained from the correlative function calculator 5 on a measuring time difference axis has a prescribed relation, and sound arrival from the direction corresponding to the delay value is identified.

PURPOSE:To make completely make the frequency and phase characteristics of the output with no directivity and the output with directivity agree with each other by making linear the phase characteristics and the frequency characteristic flat of the directivity composite output of a receiver. CONSTITUTION:LPF25 for low range and HPF26 for high range of secondary Butterworth type filter with Q=0.5 are used for a band separation circuit, and when the output of HPF26 is composed with the output of LPF25 at an addition unit 15 with their phases matched, the frequency characteristics of the directivity composite output 16 become flat and its phase characteristics linear. In this way the phase characteristics of the directivity composition 16 can be made linear, and, therefore, the frequency characteristics and phase characteristics of directivity composite output 16 and non-directivity composite output 17 can be made to coinicide with each other completely by adding the primary phase device 27 to a non-directivity receiver.

PURPOSE:To make bearing calculation and demodulation possible and make circuit constitution simple by performing the frequency analysis by complex inputs in the band centering at the frequency conversion signal near the carrier frequency. CONSTITUTION:The signal f1' of the same conversion frequency omega' as carrier frequency omega and the signal f2' of a 90 deg. phase difference therefrom are generated by a frequency conversion signal generating circuit 2', and the multiplying of the signal (c) from the sensor and the conversion signals f1', f2' is accomplished in a multiplier 7, whereby the demodulation signals g1' and g2' are obtained. When these signals are applied to a frequency analyzing part 8, the real number signal ma1' and imaginary number signal mb1', the real number signal ma2' and imaginary number signal mb2' are obtained. These signals are applied to a bearing calculating part 10. In the part 10, the differential frequency DELTAomega between the carrier frequency omega and the conversion frequency omega' and a phase error psi' are obtained, based on which the bearing is calculated.
