A striker- fired firearm generally includes a frame, a slide supported by the frame for longitudinal forward and rearward movement, a striker axially movable in a path of travel along a longitudinal axis, a trigger pivotably connected to the frame, a trigger bar movably coupled to the trigger and adapted to engage the striker, and a trigger bar camming member pivotably disposed in the frame and defining a camming surface engaged by the trigger bar. Pivoting the camming member moves the trigger bar from a first position to a second position in spatial relationship to the striker. In a preferred embodiment, the camming member is an ejector operable to expel spent cartridge casings from the firearm.

The arm (1, 5) is preferably provided with a mounting surface (9) at each side. The arm is furthermore a combined arm (1, 5), especially a semi-automatic rifle (1) with a rifle grenade unit (5), the two mounting surfaces (9) being mounted either on the grenade launcher (5) or on the rifle (1), especially so close to the sighting device (33) thereof.

The above arrangement is particularly suitable for a repeating or self-loading shotgun.

The invention relates to an arrangement for opening the dust flaps (9a, 9b) of a hand gun. The arrangement also comprises an ejection device (17, 19) that is coupled to the lock (1). The ejection device (17, 19) ejects the cartridges from ejector openings (7a, 7b) at the housing in the direction of one or the other side of the hand gun according to the arrangement of the lock (1). Dust flaps (9a, 9b) are moveably arranged at the ejector openings. When the dust flaps (9a, 9b) are open, the cartridges can be ejected from the ejector openings (7a, 7b) in an unhindered manner. When the dust flaps (9a, 9b) are closed, the ejector openings (7a, 7b) are also closed. The lock serves as means (1, 15, 21) which enables the dust flaps (9a, 9b) to open automatically, whereby said lock is configured in such a way that it only opens the dust flap (9a, 9b) which is arranged in the direction in which the cartridges are ejected as a result of the respective mounting mode while the gun is being reloaded.

A base (38) is attached to the spring loaded shaft (36) located transversely in body (16) of the firearm and attached at its opposite end to an operating pushbutton (44). The tooth (52) can be disengaged from the lateral securing slot (34) by depressing either operating pushbutton (44) or slide (62). The invention's ambidextrous function can be engaged or disengaged by extending or retracting, respectively, slide (62) over locking shelves (70a, 70b). The magazine (30) can thus be released from both sides of the rifle.
