A single hand tool and method for removing and installing brake springs and brake shoes in any Class 8 Heavy Truck with 10-Lug Wheels, using 4707, 4709, Q, and Q+ shoes, that requires the use of larger, more robust tooling not associated with the light truck and automotive industry, due to the size of the components used in the manufactured units. The device aids in capturing and extending drum brake main springs and forceful removal of rear springs, and it uses existing parts of the drum brake assembly for leverage.
65 DOOR COMPONENT COMPRISING A CONTROLLABLE DAMPING DEVICE US15746504 2016-07-21 US20180216387A1 2018-08-02 STEFAN BATTLOGG; MARKUS MAYER
A door component has a controllable damping device and contains a magnetorheological fluid. Two connection units are movable relative to one another. One of the two connection units is connected to a support structure and the other one to a pivotable door unit. The device damps a movement of the door unit between a closed position and an open position in a controlled manner by way of a control unit. The magnetorheological damping device has a piston unit and a cylinder unit surrounding the piston unit. The piston unit divides a cylinder volume into two chambers. The piston unit is equipped with a first one-way valve. The two chambers are connected together, via an external return channel equipped with at least one controllable magnetorheological damping valve, to form a one-way circuit. When the piston unit moves in and out, the magnetorheological fluid flows through the piston unit in the same flow direction.
66 DOOR COMPONENT COMPRISING A CONTROLLABLE DAMPING DEVICE US15746502 2016-07-21 US20180209195A1 2018-07-26 STEFAN BATTLOGG; MARKUS MAYER
A door component has a controllable damping device containing a magnetorheological fluid as a working fluid. Two connection units can move relative to one another. One of the two connection units can be connected to a support structure and the other of the two connection units can be connected to a moveable door unit of a vehicle in order to damp a movement of the door unit between a closed position and an open position under control of a control device. The damping device has an electrically adjustable magnetorheological damping valve which is current-less in its adjusted state. A damping property of the damping device is continuously adjusted as needed via an electrical adjustment of the damping valve.
67 POSITION-MEASURING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A POSITION-MEASURING DEVICE US15823609 2017-11-28 US20180159405A1 2018-06-07 Erich Strasser
A position-measuring device includes a graduation carrier which carries a measuring graduation and is non-rotatably connectable to a shaft. A scanner is configured to generate scanning signals by scanning the measuring graduation. Evaluation electronics are configured to process the scanning signals into a digital angle value of the shaft. An interface is configured to communicate with subsequent electronics. The scanner is mountable on a machine part that is supported so as to be movable in an axial direction of the shaft, so that the scanning signals are dependent on a position of the machine part in the axial direction of the shaft, and so that a measure of the position of the machine part in the axial direction of the shaft is determinable from the scanning signals by the evaluation electronics.
68 Variable resistance electronic device brake clutch US14826173 2015-08-13 US09823638B2 2017-11-21 Michael D. McBroom; Daniel L. McBroom; Steven C. Michalske
A variable resistance brake clutch facilitates a rotational coupling of electronic device components, and can include a rotatable shaft, a brake disposed proximate the rotatable shaft, and an actuator coupled to and configured to actuate the brake. The brake applies a braking force against a rotational motion of the shaft, and release of the brake results in low to no frictional resistance against the rotational motion. The braking force can be provided by default, and a capacitive touch sensor or other input component can allow a user to actuate the actuator manually to release the brake when desired. The release can be maintained as long as the sensor detects the touch event or other user input. A processor and solenoid can facilitate actuation by on a touch event, which sensor can be located at a back corner of a laptop upper component.

A medical device assembly including a support member, a first arm rotatably connected to the support member at a first rotary axis, a second arm rotatably connected to the first arm at a second rotary axis, and a medical unit connected to an end of the second arm opposite the first arm. The first arm is prevented from rotating about the first rotary axis when the first arm and the second arm are substantially aligned. The first arm and/or the second arm can also be prevented from rotating to prevent the medical device assembly from abutting against an obstacle.
