PURPOSE: A method for producing hydrogen using microorganism which is transformed with (nickel-iron)-hydrogenase gene is provided to enhance efficiency of biological hydrogenation and to apply as an electrocatalyst. CONSTITUTION: A (nickel-iron)-hydrogenase protein which is derived from Hydrogenovibrio marinus has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. A gene encoding the (nickel-iron)-hydrogenase protein has a base sequence of sequence number 1. A recombinant vector has the gene. A method for producing hydrogen from microorganism comprises: a step of transforming the microorganism with the recombinant vector; and a step of culturing the transformed microorganism in a culture medium containing Ni and Fe under the microaerobic condition. The microorganism is E.coli. |
