Embodiments of a Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU) comprise at least one door for securing items within the RMU. The door(s) comprises a transparent portion that provides security for the items contained in the RMU, while allowing at least a portion of such items to be viewed. Preferably, the transparent portion restricts access to the RMU's interior, while permitting at least a portion of the items that are secured within the RMU to be viewed through such transparent portion. The door(s) may further contain one or more shelves on which merchandise may be placed, wherein the shelves are arranged such that when the door(s) are closed the shelves are secured within the interior of the RMU. Preferably, the transparent portion of a door permits the items placed on the door's shelve(s) to be viewed by passersby. Embodiments of the RMU may provide a self-contained storefront for marketing and selling merchandise.

The structure enabler (e.g.) retail counters to be built quickly from standard sections cut to a desired length, without the need to top or otherwise form screw-threaded holes during assembly.

Die Eckverbindung an einer Zarge, die als Bestandteil für den Korpus einer Vitrine oder eines Schaukastens geeignet ist, hat ein Eckstück (6), an das Zargenprofile angeschlossen sind. DieZargenprofile stoßen stumpf an das Eckstück an. Das Eckstück (6) ist hohl, wobei der Hohlraum über eine seitliche Öffnung zugänglich ist. Durch Endwände (15) des Eckstückes sind Verbindungsschrauben (22) hindurchgesteckt, die in Schraubkanäle der anschließenden Zargenprofile eingeschraubt sind. Die Schraubenköpfe (22a) liegen im Hohlraum des Eckstückes (6) und sind in einer Richtung quer zu ihrer Längsachse zugänglich. Die Öffnung läßt sich stets so anordnen, daß sie am fertigen Korpus nicht sichtbar ist. Beispielsweise kann sie von einer Rückwand des Korpus abgedeckt werden.

Der Bausatz für die Herstellung von Zargen verschiedener Breite enthält drei verschiedene Profile, nämlich Grund- ! profile (7), Erweiterungsprofile (8) und Verbindungsprofile (9). Je nach gewünschter Breite wird die Zarge nur aus Grundprofilen (7) oder aus Grundprofilen (7) und Erweiterungsprofilen (8) zusammengesetzt. Wenn die Zarge breiter ist als ein Grundprofil, stehen sich spiegelbildich ausgebildete Verbindungsränder (17', 17") gegenüber, die mittels der Verbindungsprofile (9) zusammengehalten werden. Diese Verbindungsprofile (9) werden von der Innenseite der Zarge her aufgesteckt und sind von der Außenseite der Zarge her nicht sichtbar. Die Schenkel der Verbindungsprofile (9) können unter elastischer Verformung etwas auseinandergedrückt werden.

Die Zeichnung zeigt eine Zargenwand im Schnitt, die ein Erweiterungsprofil (8) und zwei Grundprofile (7) aufweist, die durch Verbindungsprofile (9) zusammengehalten sind. Bei einer schmäleren Zarge könnte eine Wand aus zwei Grundprofilen (7) gebildet werden, die durch ein Verbindungsprofil (9) zusammengehalten sind. Bei einer schmalsten Zarge besteht jede Wand aus nur einem Grundprofil (7). Bei einer besonders breiten Zarge könnte jede Wand auch mehr als zwei Erweiterungsprofile enthalten.

The invention relates to an article supporting assembly that is useful as a toolbox, for shelving, for article display purposes, and a wide variety of other purposes. The basic assembly includes a center structure, at least two spanners, each having first and second opposite edges, at least two cover plates, and article supporting structures formed on the center structure and the cover plates. Each of the spanners is hinged to the center plate generally along the first spanner edges and each cover plate is hinged to a spanner generally along the second edge of the spanner, so that the cover plates are pivotal from a first position generally parallel to the center structure (spaced the width of the spanner) to a second position generally perpendicular to the center structure. The cover plates may be hinged together along adjacent edge. A casing preferably surrounds the center structure, with a handle formed on the casing. Two sets of spanners and cover plates may be provided, one on each side of the center plate, and the center structure may be mounted on the casing for rotational movement.
