PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation mount for displaying articles to prevent a fall of art works to be displayed and a display show case in an art gallery due to an earthquake. SOLUTION: A lower frame 1 in a plane rectangular shape, an intermediate frame 2, and an upper frame 3 are stacked through base isolation mechanisms 4 disposed at four corner parts between the frames positioned vertically facing each other. The base isolation mechanism 4 is structured such that roller pair 42 and 43 having centers positioned vertically eccentrically from each other are integrally formed. The center is eccentric toward the upper side and meanwhile, one roller 42 is rolled in a state to make contact with the lower frame and the other roller having a center eccentric toward below is rolled in a state to make contact with the under surface of the upper frame. Based on the base isolation mechanisms 4 located between the lower frame 1 and the intermediate frame 2, vibrations in longitudinal and lateral directions of display articles and a display case placed on the upper frame 3 during the occurrence of an earthquake is damped by the base isolation mechanisms 4 in a direction orthogonally crossing the rolling direction of the roller of the base isolation mechanism 4.

The invention relates to an article supporting assembly that is useful as a toolbox, for shelving, for article display purposes, and a wide variety of other purposes. The basic assembly includes a center structure, at least two spanners, each having first and second opposite edges, at least two cover plates, and article supporting structures formed on the center structure and the cover plates. Each of the spanners is hinged to the center plate generally along the first spanner edges and each cover plate is hinged to a spanner generally along the second edge of the spanner, so that the cover plates are pivotal from a first position generally parallel to the center structure (spaced the width of the spanner) to a second position generally perpendicular to the center structure. The cover plates may be hinged together along adjacent edge. A casing preferably surrounds the center structure, with a handle formed on the casing. Two sets of spanners and cover plates may be provided, one on each side of the center plate, and the center structure may be mounted on the casing for rotational movement.
