【課題】 消し具等を用いて摩擦熱等により筆記描線を消色できる熱変色性のマイクロカプセル顔料を含有する筆記具用性インク組成物において、擦る回数を減らし、かつ手に過度の負担をかけること無く確実に消色できるボールペン用、マーキングペン用などに好適な筆記具用水性インク組成物を提供する。
【解決手段】 ロイコ色素、顕色剤及び変色温度調整剤を少なくとも含む熱変色性マイクロカプセル顔料と、二酸化チタン、シリカ粒子、シリコーン樹脂粒子から選ばれる少なくとも1種の粒子とを含有し、上記熱変色性マイクロカプセル顔料がインク組成物全量に対して5〜30質量%であると共に、上記粒子の含有量が熱変色性マイクロカプセル顔料1に対して、質量比で0.1〜2であり、かつ、上記熱変色性マイクロカプセル顔料と上記粒子の合計含有量がインク組成物全量に対して60質量%以下であることを特徴とする筆記具用水性インク組成物。

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermochromic composition of which the range of hysteresis can be changed freely according to heating temperature by mixing a leuco dye, a color-developing substance that develops the color of the leuco dye and two specific types of solvents. CONSTITUTION: A thermochromic composition is obtained by mixing a colorless or very light-colored leuco dye [e.g. 3,3'-dimethoxyfluoran (yellow) or 3- diethylamino-7-dibenzyl-aminofluoran (dark green)]; a color-developing substance that develops the color of the leuco dye when it is brought into contact with the leuco dye (e.g. phenol or aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid); an alkyl ester of an aliphatic carboxylic acid that discolors the dye when heated together with the leuco dye and the color developing substance (e.g. octyl caprylate) and an ester containing an aromatic ring (e.g. phenyl acetate). When this composition is exposed to a temperature higher than the complete discoloration temperature (T 2) of a color density-temperature curve by ▵t°C, its range of hysteresis expands by ▵Ht. PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material using a leuco dye having a strong absorption band in a near infrared region, by using a specified leuco dye as an electron-donative color former. CONSTITUTION:This recording material uses a leuco dye of general formula (I) as an electron-donative color former. In the formula, each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 is a lower alkyl, and each of R9 and R10 is hydrogen (both of R9 and R10 are not simultaneously hydrogen), -CN or -COR11, where R11 is a substd. or unsubstd. phenyl, substd. or unsubstd. naphthyl, alkyl or alkoxyl. The leuco dye of general formula (I) is a colorless or slightly colored solid stable in the atmosphere, and performs a rapid color forming reaction to form a deep blue coloring matter upon making contact with an electron- acceptive compound such as inorganic acids (activated clay, acid clay, etc.), organic acids, phenolic compounds and derivatives thereof and oxidizing agents, on a molecular basis. The coloring matter thus formed has excellent preservability. Therefore, the leuco dye is useful as a coloring matter precursor.
