PURPOSE: To provide a non-defective film by containing an acid sensitization leuco dye in a halogen-containing polymer which is colored with an acid, in a dye which does not substantially contain a group having sensitization to high energy radiation. CONSTITUTION: A film 10 of such halogen-containing polymer as chlorine, bromine and fluorine where an acid-sensitization leuco dye is diffused. The dye does not substantially contain a group which is sensitizing to high energy radiation, but is colored with an acid. The amount of high energy radiation required for coloring is 0.1 kiro G ray-1000 kiro G ray. The leuco dye contains carbazole methane, bis-indo-phthalide, fluorene or a mixture of them, and exists by an amount of 1-10 part for each halogen-containing polymer 100 weight part. The thickness of the film 10 is 0.01-0.1mm. Thus, a smooth and constant film 10 of good appearance can be manufactured easily. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO

PURPOSE: To prepare a highly pure phthalocyanine crystal industrially favorably by treating a phthalocyanine with a soln. contg. at least trifluoroacetic acid. CONSTITUTION: A highly pure phthalocyanine crystal is obtd. by dissolving a phthalocyanine, e.g. nonmetallophthalocyanine, magnesium phthalocyanine, and phthalocyanine derivs., in a solvent which contains trifluoroacetic acid as the essential component and if necessary contains benzene, chloroform, trichloroacetic acid, etc., and by recrystallizing said phthalocyanine from the soln. Usable methods for the recrystallization include precipitation utilizing a change in solubility with temp. and precipitation by mixing with a good solvent. By proper selection of the solvent and the quantity, ratio and temp. of the solvent, various crystal forms can be obtd. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: To provide a discoloration time monitor layer capable of readily regulating the time required for a discoloring agent in the form of microcapsules to undergo discoloration, by drying an emulsion of a polymer comprising styrene and/or acrylonitrile monomeric units as its structural units so as to form a film. CONSTITUTION: A desired discoloration time monitor layer is produced by drying an emulsion of a polymer comprising styrene and/or acrylonitrile monomeric units as it structural units so as to form a film. Placing this layer between layer A contg. microcapsules of a oily material and layer B contg. a material which causes discoloration upon contact with the oily material enables control of the time required for the oily material which has flowed out upon breakage of the microcapsules to reach the layer B to thereby cause discoloration. When the polymer constituting the monitor layer has a high styrene monomeric unit content, the time for causing discoloration is short. On the other hand, when the polymer has a high acrylonitrile monomeric unit content, the time is long. COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
