| A process is disclosed for the production of doublefaced articles of clothing, particularly scarves and ties. Two pieces of fabric are sewn together along their edges by means of two seams situated at a distance from each other in such a way that their respective reverse sides face towards each other and their edges, folded inwards between the two seams, are in each case double. The invention is characterised in that the two pieces of fabric are first interconnected by means of a first seam and then have their edge portions folded inwardly as far as permitted by the first seam, after which the second seam is stitched to interconnect the doubled over edges and cause them to lie tightly against each other. The result is a simplification of procedure and more uniform product. | ||||||

Class 141 A four-in-hand necktie has a lining 10 provided with a central longitudinal heat-set crease 11 at least in the knot-forming part of the tie, so that a concave fold 16 is produced in the front surface of the tie when the knot 15 is formed. The lining 10 extends throughout at least the wide end of the tie, and consists wholly or partially of synthetic fibrous heatsettable material. The crease 11 is set by subjecting the lining to a higher temperature than the scorching temperature of the fabric 12. A second fabric lining 13 may also be provided, the layers being stitched together at 14 along the crease line 11. | ||||||
