1510309 Neckties J COMFORT & CO Ltd 15 Aug 1975 [16 Aug 1974] 36204/74 Heading A3V A necktie has an end to end lining 26 inside a casing 10, a bias-cut interlining 16 terminating just short of the end of, the casing sheath at the wide end of the tie and a decorative lining 12 extending from within the sheath to the tip or wide end of the tie and applied over lining 26 so as to be seen below the sheath on looking at the tie from behind. In the prior-art tie of Figure 2, decorative lining 12 is sewn at (14) to the wide end of casing 10. Casing 10 is folded along its centre line and interlinings 16, (18) sewn by slip stitch 22 which passes through superimposed casing side edges 20. The narrow end of the tie is pulled through the loop formed in casing 10 by stitching 22. Interlinings 16, (18) are tucked between decorative lining 12 and casing 10. The interlining is handstitched to edges 20. In the embodiment of the invention shown in Figure 6, silk decorative lining 12 is applied over end to end rayon lining 26 on silk casing 10 so that at the wide end of the tie, lining 26 is sandwiched between casing 10 and lining 12. Manufacture proceeds as before, interlinings 16, 18 stopping short of point (B) so that they need not be tucked behind lining 12.
