There is disclosed an apparatus for collecting residual material from a flexographic printing member on a Computer-To-Plate (CTP) system, that comprises a nozzle body, a nozzle tip attached to an end of the nozzle body, an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the nozzle tip in proximity with a printing member on the CTP system, an exhaust blower and a conduit for communication with an end of the nozzle body and the exhaust blower.
49 Punching module for platesetter DE19507870 1995-03-08 DE19507870A1 1996-09-12 SICKERT GUENTER
The invention concerns a register stamping system for printing plates comprising several stamping modules for inner drum printing plate exposure systems. The printing plate is mounted inside a trough in the form of a circular segment and the stamping modules (1, 2, 3, 4 and 6) are arranged next to one another on a support plate (5) at one end of and outside the trough in which the printing plate is mounted. The stamping modules each comprise a guide block (2) mounted on the support plate, a stamping punch (1) guided within the guide block (2), a connecting rod (3) with which the die can be actuated and a stripper plate (4) mounted on the support plate (3) at the end of the support plate facing the trough and through which the stamping punch is guided; the stamping punch (1) at the end which engages through the stripper plate is provided with a tab which grips over the end of the printing plate; the stamping punch (1) can be actuated by the connecting rod (3), withdrawal of the stamping punch at the end of the printing plate resulting in a stamping action, and the material stamped out of the printing plate is removed by the tab and the stripper plate.

52 STEP AND REPEAT ADAPTOR FOR A LARGE SIZE PLATEMAKER CA402600 1982-05-10 CA1195181A 1985-10-15 LEIN JUERGEN G
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A step and repeat adaptor for a large size platemaker is provided for enabling the simultaneous printing of several impressions of relatively small objects such as documents by a single large photosensitive sheet and as a result, considerable photosensitive material and preparation time is saved. A first vertically oriented flat rectangular light blocking mask overlaying the plate is translatable in a horizontal direction and a second horizontally oriented flat rectangular mask overlaying the plate is translatable in a vertical direction, thereby to provide for the successive imaging of four relatively small objects upon the four quadrants of the large photosensitive plate. One or both of the masks are removable to provide for the "2-up" imaging, or the imaging of a single large object respectively, upon the entire exposure area of the plate.
53 Method of storing characters and photo-typsetting apparatus GB8204711 1982-02-17 GB2115657A 1983-09-07 FUKUDA SHINICHIRO
Method and apparatus for storing and photo-typesetting characters stored in the form of data of contours wherein, unlike the prior art, curved contours are not approximated by straight lines, but are approximated by curves, that is, the data is stored to obtain a curve which is approximated to the curve of the contour approximated to contours of characters being reproduced based upon the stored data. End points and one or more reference points are stored for each segment according to the degree of the approximating curve. Each point on the curve is calculated by interpolation and the co-ordinates of the point compared with the position of the scanning beam of a laser or a CRT, the beam being turned on at each co-incidence.
