PURPOSE:To cast simultaneously a pipe with two flanges with one casting mold by cutting away the intermediate part consisting of only the resin sand layer formed in a cylindrical metallic flask and forming an annular recess having the width corresponding to the thickness of two flanges. CONSTITUTION:A strickling bar 15 attached with a projection 14 having a prescribed shape is inserted into the metallic flask 3 under rotation at a low speed and the intermediate part consisting of the resin sand layers 10, 10' is cut away in the peripheral direction of the flask 3 except the layer having a suitable thickness by the projection 14. An annular recess 16 for forming a flange having the width corresponding to the thickness of the two flanges is formed. The cut away resin sand is discharged by high- pressure air to the outside of the flask 3. Sand stopping bands are then removed and in turn a pair of molten metal stopping bands formed with the resin sand layers on the opposed surfaces are pressed and fixed to a step part 6 and annular recesses 20 for forming flanges are formed to the end faces on both sides of the mixed sand layer 12'. The flask 3 provided with the resultant casting mold is rotated and the molten metal is poured therein, by which a cast iron pipe 23 having flanges 21, 23 at both ends and in the middle is cast.

PURPOSE:To produce a core from green sand by hardening the green sand packed in the cavity of a core box firmly by rotating a beltlike revolving shaft then removing the revolving shaft. CONSTITUTION:A beltlike revolving shaft 6 is inserted into the center of a cavity 2, and the bottom end thereof is inserted into the supporting hole 3a of a molding board 3. Green sand S is supplied through a hopper 5 into the cavity 2. When the shaft 6 is rotated by a driving device connected to the shaft part 6b at the top end of said shaft, the sand S in the cavity 2 is pressed and compressed powerfly toward the inside wall surface of the cavity 2 by the belt part 6a of the shaft 6, by which the sand S is firmly hardened. Upon hardening, the shaft 6 is removed under revolution and after a clamping device is loosened, a core box 1 is removed from the board 3. When the box 1 is opened, the hardened core is removed.

PURPOSE:To mold a core by green sand by hadening the green sand packed in the cavity of a core box firmly by means of a screw shaft or eccentric shaft which is inserted into the cavity and is revolved then removing the screw shaft or the eccentric shaft. CONSTITUTION:An elevating table 9 placed thereon with a core box 12 is moved upward by the extension operation of a cylnder 7, to bring the box 12 into abutment on a hopper 10, thence the box 12 is clamped by means of the hopper 10 and the table 9. The green sand (a) in the hopper 10 is packed through the supply port 13 of the box 12 into a cavity 15 and a rotating and driving mechanism 3 is driven to revolve a screw shaft 6 and to insert the leading end of the shaft 6 through a through-hole 8 into the cavity 15 packed with the green sand (a), thereby hardening the green sand (a) firmly. The screw 6 is removed from the hardened sand (a) by operating the mechanism 3 and a cylinder 2. The box 12 is removed and the hardened core is removed by opening the box 12.

PURPOSE: To mold cores efficiently by means of simple equipment simultaneously with centrifugal casting by mounting a core box to a metal mold and making use of the rotation of the metal mold and the heat of the poured molten metal. CONSTITUTION: A core box 8 is mounted concentrically to one end of a metal mold 1. While the metal mold 1 is being rotated and molten metal is being poured from a spout 11, core sand is supplied from a chute 12 to the inside surface of the core box 8. This core sand is compacted by centrifugal force and an annular core 7b is formed on the inside surface of the core box 8. The warm wind having been heated by the heat of the molten metal flows into the core box 8 so that the curing of the core 7b is accelerated. Upon completion of the casting and the molding of the core 7b, a front cover 5a is removed from the mold 1 and the drawing of a pipe is carried out. The core box 8 is removed from the thus molded core 7b and a supporting cylinder 4 is turned over to insert the molded core 7b into the metal mold 1. The metal mold 1 is fixed and the core box 8 is fitted to the front cover 5a. In this way, the formation of the cores 7a, 7b is repeated simultaneously with casting. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
