Then, its output is inputted to clipping circuit 5 to extract the tip part of the synchronizing signal, which is so amplified 6 that the overlapping noise component will not be saturated, and only the overlapping noise component in the synchronizing signal is separated through HPF7. Next, it is supplied via buffer circuit 8 to DC-compenent removing circuit 9, where the DC component is removed, and noises at the synchronous tip part are detected, thereby attaining display M of its level. Consequently, it is made possible to grasp the elapse deterioration of input interface characteristics of a video tape recorder, etc.
