CONSTITUTION:In a metallic image forming material for the purpose of forming metallic picture by a photoetching method wherein a metallic layer is provided on a substrate and a photosensitive resin layer is provided thereon, a metal such as aluminum, tellurium, molybdenum, silver or chronium, more preferably, aluminum, is vapor deposited on the substrate from the direction diagonal to the plane of the substrate, whereby a metallic vapor deposited layer of 100-3,000Angstrom is formed. The angle theta of vapor deposition (the angle that the normal of the plane of the substrate and the incident direction of vapor depositing particles assume) is >=30 deg., more preferably >=45 deg..
