CONSTITUTION: In the machine facilities of a sedimentation basin in a disposal plant for service water or sewage or the like, a screw conveyor 14 is installed at a location lower than an inflow path 2, and a dust collector is disposed to an upper portion of an intermediate portion of an upper conveyor and a sedimentation pit 16 to a downstream terminal. A sand component in raw water is sedimented and collected on a V-shaped bottom of the sedimentation basin 13. Sedimented sand is carried to the sedimentation pit 16 by rotating the screw conveyor 14, and discharged to the outside by means of a sand pump 11. Thus, since a sprocket wheel 19 of a lower portion of the dust collector is not buried into the sedimented sand and screened residue is removed at a portion upper than the sand pump 11, a coarse grating is omitted, and sand is sedimented stably and rapidly.
