CONSTITUTION: Kana keys 8 are provided on keyboard 1, and a Chinese character is inputted by keying key 8 and is displayed on display 2. Here, idiom dictionary 6 where idioms of kana characters and idioms of Chinese characters are corresponded with each other is provided, and in inputting a Chinese character, dictionary 6 is used to select idioms which are constituted by the Chinese character corresponding to inputted kana characters. Then, these idioms are displayed on display 2, and the Chinese character which the operator intends inputting is selected from displayed idioms. As a result, the load of the operator can be reduced in case of Chinese character selection.
