CONSTITUTION: To input a sentence to the data processor, first the shift key 6 is operated and the key button 4 of the character key section 3 is operated. In case of Kanji, when the shift key 6-2 is depressed and characters are inputted with the key buttons 4, the encoder 14 sets logic 1 in the corresponding Kanji and Katakana (square form of Kana) bits to the input buffer register 16, and the encoder 13 sets sequentially the character code to the register 16. Next, at the timing when the operation of the key 6-2 is finished, the character code is inputted to the conversion table 17 which outputs the character code corresponding to the Kanji. The selection gate 18 selects the output of the table 17, is set in the character code register 19, and is inputted to the data processor. When no shift key 6 is operated, it is inputted in the form of Hiragana, and when the key 6-3 is operated, it is inputted in the form of Katakana.
