CONSTITUTION: The picture information obtained by a spherical camera 4 is supplied to a contour extracting processor 5. The output of the processor 5 is switched by a demultiplexer 52 and stored to a spherically projected picture memory 53 or 54. each point of the contour is written to the memory 53 or 54, and at the same time the information on a corresponding large circle is written to a projected image memory 57. An S point detector 59 scans each cell of the meory 57 and obtains the peak position. A detector 60 for S point (a symmetrical point to the original point) detects the S point of an object which scans and shifts each cell of a projected image memory 58. The results of these detections are delivered to a stereoscopic recognition part, etc. and sent to the memories 53 and 54.
