CONSTITUTION: Colloidal silica is added to an emulsion of a resin having an average particle diameter of below 0.1μ. As the resin emulsions, there can be used emulsions of a polymer of (meth)acrylic acid, acrylonitrile, a (meth)acrylate ester or vinyl acetate. Communization of these resins into particles having an average particle diameter of below 0.1μ can be performed by applying ultrasonic waves or high-frequency waves to the resins during or after emulsion polymerization. It is necessary that the resins have an average particle diameter of below 0.1μ, because when the average diameter exceeds 0.1μ, coated films therefrom crack and peel off.
