y (wherein x and y are each an integer of 1-3) and ammonium hydrogen-fluoride (NH
4 F.HF). Polyoxytetramethylene glycol can be produced efficiently in good yields by using a solid super acid catalyst which can easily be recovered and recycled and is more inexpensive as a polymerization catalyst.
