CONSTITUTION: Crystal is grown from the melt of a raw material having electrical conductivity by a Czochralski process. In the abovementioned device for growing crystal, a spiral heater 1 made of high-purity carbon is equipped with the current introducing terminals 2 to both ends thereof and assembled by the insulated holders 3. This spiral heater 1 is utilized as the heating source of the melt. This melt is heated by conducting electricity to the spiral heater 1 and also a magnetic field is generated thereby and impressed to the melt. Thereby the melt is heated while the fluctuation in temp. is inhibited and also the magnetic flux leaked to the outside of the growth furnace is lowered. Adverse effect to the peripheral equipments is prevented.
