An organic acid (e.g., stearic acid or benzoic acid) or a stabilizer (e.g., 4-methyl-2,6-di-t-butylphenol) and a shortstop (e.g., ethanol) are added to the obtained living polymer in the absence of water. The solvent is removed from the polymer solution to obtain a polymer which does not cloud when immersed in hot water and is suitable for food containers, etc.
