CONSTITUTION: An R-Y signal in a chrominance signal FR is applied to a 1st subtrator 6a in the digital filter 1. In the subtractor 6a, an R-Y signal in a difference signal FD is formed from the R-Y component of the chrominance signal FR and a reference chrominance signal FK1. When the amplitude of the difference signal FD is small, the limiter 10 passes the difference signal FD without modulating it, and in the case of a large amplitude difference signal FD, the difference signal FD is attenuated. A modulated difference signal FDM is supplied to a 1st multiplier 30a through a 1st register 20a, supplied also to a 2nd multiplier 30b and multiplied by a correlation coefficient K2 and the multiplied result is stored in a register 20d. A correlation signal RK2 read out from the register 20d is supplied to a 3rd attenuator 6c to erase the noise component R of the R-Y component in the signal FR.
