When the stand-by state of the set 47 is received, the gate door set 51 uses a call tone generating circuit to generate a call tone. The signal is FM-modulated and sent to the set 47. The gate door set 51 sends a video signal picked up by a camera to a frequency converter 46 via a mid-band modulator 50. The set 47 demodulates the call signal to ring a speaker, the converter 46 converts the video signal into a UHF band signal, which is displayed on a TV receiver 48. Further, the resident room set 47 hooks up a handset to send the FM-modulated voice signal to the gate door set 51. Thus, the talking between both is attained.
