Then, it is sent back to the dumping site through the return path 7 and denitrified by means of denitrifying bacteria present in dumped wastes and soil under anaerobic condition by utilizing organic carbon present in wastes. The leachate so treated is clarified through the catalytic oxidation 10 to reduce BOD, the coagulating sedimentation tank 12, the sand filtering apparatus 16, and the active carbon adsorption apparatus 17, for example.
