CONSTITUTION: The raw waste water and/or circulating water extracted by a circulating pump 4 from the bottom part of a deoxygenation tank 2 is introduced from the tank bottom part via a pipeline 7 into an anaerobic denitrification section 5, where it is denitrified by the denitrification bacteria stuck on the surface of stationary annular discs 9 and rotary discs 8. An oxygen-contg. gas is blown from a gas blowing pipe 11 and in an aerobic nitrification section 6, the org. components and ammonia in the waste water after the denitrification treatment are biologically oxidized and nitrified. At the time when the org. components are biologically oxidized, gaseous carbon dioxide is produced by the respiration effect of microbes, and dissolves into the treating water. This gaseous carbon dioxide is effectively utilized as an inorg. carbon source for the time of biologically nitrifying the ammonia components.
