CONSTITUTION: The sludge from a purification tank is supplied to one end side on the side of a reaction tank 1, and an oxygen-contg. gas is supplied over the entire part thereof through the nozzle 3 connected to a blower 2 to fluidize the sludge toward the other lateral end side, whereby the sludge is subjected to a nitration treatment for ammoniacal nitrogen contents and a denitrification treatment for the nitrated nitrate nitrogen contents simultaneously. The tank 1 is provided with the zigzag flow passage R formed of partition walls 10 inverted of the installation directions alternately in vertical directions, and is supplied with the crude night soil through the R
1 from the middle parts dispersed in the flow passage direction. The environment in which the nitration and the denitrification can be effected simultaneously is given to the entire inside part of the tank 1 by suppressing the rise of the amt. of dissolved oxygen above the set value.
