In this case, combustion air is supplied through a supplying tube 5e and is mixed with a gas for combustion from a supplying tube 3a beforehand, further, intermediate products produced by a low oxygen combustion are burnt by secondary air from a supplying tube 5d. Here, an air ratio for the combustion is controlled so as to be less than 0.75, further, the air ratio in a premixed combustion system is controlled so as to be less than about 0.7 while the same in a difusion combustion system is controlled so as to be less than 0.65. Thus, the combustion is effected with the air amount less than the logical air amount to promote the removal of the NO
x constituent.
