CONSTITUTION: Seawater in a live fish tank 2 is discharged to a nitrification tank 3 with an overflowing pipe 6 and simultaneously fed to an anaerobic thermostatic tank 5 with a bypass pipe 8. NH
3 in the seawater is oxidized into nitrous acid and nitric acid by nitrifying action of nitrifying bacteria in the nitrification tank 3 and the seawater is then delivered from a discharging pipe 12. Part of the aforementioned seawater is then passed through a showering pipe 13 and as a shower returned into the tank 3. The rest is passed through a feeding pipe 14 and fed to an auxiliary tank 4 under pressure. Nitrous acid and nitric acid in the seawater fed from the nitrification tank 3 are reduced into nitrogen gas with denitrifying bacteria in the auxiliary tank 4. The resultant seawater after the denitrification is passed through a return pipe 7 and returned to the live fish tank 2.
