1. 2. The apparatus of claim 6 in which said frame includes a central pivot post disposed between said group milking stall and said preparation stalls, and structural members projecting from said pivot post toward said preparation stalls.

Apparatus for the automatic preparation and milking of cows in groups of a given size comprising a predetermined number of preparation stalls with exit gate means, a group milking stall adapted to contain a predetermined number of cows and having exit barrier means and an entrance, control means including means responsive to the presence of cows in said preparation stalls for starting a cow preparation cycle in said preparation stalls, automatic gate moving means for moving said exit gate means of the preparation stalls at the completion of said preparation cycle so that cows of a group are received in the group milking stall at a predetermined time after preparation, a predetermined number of feed mangers in said group milking stall arranged in a series between said entrance and said exit barrier means, automatic control means for depositing feed in the manger closest to said exit barrier means at a predetermined time, and control means for sensing the presence of a cow at said feed-containing manger and for automatically depositing feed in the next adjacent manger.
