CONSTITUTION: A carcinostatic agent containing a nucleic acid derivative I, and effective to the ascetes carcinoma and leukemia of mouse by oral administration, intravenous injection, subcutaneous injection, etc. The compound I is prepared by (1) culturing bacteria belonging to Bacillus thuringiensis under aerobic conditions at 30°C for 20W22 hours to produce the compound II, (2) centrifuging the culturing medium, (3) treating the resulted supernatant liquid with activated charcoal, a strong basic anion exchange resin, and a strong acidic cation exchange resin, to effect the purification and the intramolecular dehydrative cyclization, and (4) removing phosphoric acid from the product with acidic phosphatase.
