The catalyst is lithium salt, sodium salt, potassium salt, etc., of the carboxylic acid derivative. As an alternative method, the compound of formula II is produced by treating a 2-acyl-1,3-dioxan derivative of formula III (R
3 is H, alkyl or aryl) with a peracid optionally in the presence of a carboxylic acid derivative of formula XII.
