CONSTITUTION: A grate consists of a plurality of posts 1, tie beams 2 to link between the posts 1, and joint members 3 to joint the posts 1 with the tie beams 2. The post 1 consists of a plurality of small spherical pieces 4 and a center member 5, which passes through the holes bored in the small spherical pieces 4 in order to connect them. Ceramics with high melt temperature is employed as the small spherical piece 4, while a copper alloy stiring with low melt temperature is employed as the center member. When the above-mentioned grate is employed in a crematory, the center members 5 applied in the posts 1 and the tie beams 2 of the grate melt at the time when the temperature during cremation rises high, resulting in separating the connection between the small spherical pieces 4, diconnecting the grate, and falling together with burnt bone ashes to pieces on the hearth surface. Accordingly, bone ashes can be gathered from the remains after the completion of cremation in the configuration nearly same as the dead body.
