A vertical growth tower for vertical farming comprising a plurality of growth modules, each growth module comprising an enclosure configured to securely hold at least one plant; a drain aperture in the enclosure; and at least one lateral growth opening in the enclosure configured to permit and to encourage lateral growth of the at least one plant away from the enclosure; wherein one or more of the growth modules is configured to stackably support one or more of the other growth modules above and/or below itself within the vertical growth tower.

Mist collector walls made of blades (fig. 1), such as those used in testing stands of vertical distribution insecticide blowers in agriculture, must be as easy as possible to transport. For that purpose, the mist collecting blades (A) are horizontally secured to a foldable frame by vertical strips (C). The discharge ducts (E) are secured to individual blades (F) suitable for collecting and discharging the measurement liquid. When folding the frame, the vertical strips (C) are loosened until the blades may be laid on each other, while the discharge ducts (E) remain connected. In order to completely empty the mist collector, the suspension strips (C) may be shifted in relation to each other, causing the blades to tilt in the outflow direction.

A deflector assembly for obstructing flow of liquid to an adjacent location for a receptacle such as a tray for growing plants in a vertical farming system. The deflector assembly includes a support member and a biasing assembly. A baffle is also provided that Is moveable relative to the support member. The baffle Is responsive to the biasing assembly and the biasing assembly Is responsive to positioning of the tray at the adjacent location, the biasing assembly is arranged to bring the baffle to a position for obstructing the flow of liquid upon removal of the tray from the location so that the liquid, for example plant growth nutrient, is not wasted and does not cause a mess. Placement of the tray at the location adjacent the deflector assembly causes the biasing assembly to be overcome thereby displacing the baffle from the obstructing position to allow passage of the liquid to the tray.

A method and apparatus for continuous automated growing of plants utilizes a vertical array of plant supporting arms extending radially from a central axis. Each arm has a plurality of pot receptacles which receive the plant seedling and liquid nutrients and water. The potting arms are rotated beneath grow lamps and pollinating arms. The frequency of feeding is increased as the plants grow. CO2 iched air may also be provided. Once the plants are ready to harvest, they are manually exchanged for new seedlings and packaged.

SOLUTION: A seedling transplanter A is constituted freely moved up/down through a quadruplet link mechanism 6 for elevation at the rear part of a traveling machine body 3, the quadruplet link mechanism 6 is driven by an elevation cylinder 7 and between the front part and rear part of the quadruplet link mechanism 6, the elevation cylinder 7 is bridged crosswise. At the same time, the seedling transplanter A is moved up through the reducing operation of the elevation cylinder 7 and moved down through the extending operation. In this case, it is preferable to match a connection point P1, which consists of the quadruplet link mechanism 6, between the rear part of the traveling machine body 3 and an upper link 6A with a connection point Q1 between the elevating cylinder 7 and the rear part of the traveling machine body.
